Storm Struggles: supporting dogs scared of storms
The helpless feeling as we watch our dogs struggle during storms and bad weather events is terrible. Dogs scared of storms really do have a hard time.
It feels awful when we try to comfort our dog and nothing we do seems to help.
Not only is it distressing to watch your dog go through this every time a storm develops, it’s amplified when your dog escapes, is injured or damages your home.
Fear of storms is a common, often complex, fear in dogs. For many dogs it’s not just the sound of thunder and strong winds/rain that cause concern. Frequently dogs scared of storms will let you know a storm is building well ahead of time.
There are a lot of suggestions and advice available online on how to help dogs scared of storms. However, this information is usually incomplete.
Seeing many posts on Facebook where people were reaching out for help and advice to help their dogs after 3 days of storms really touched me.
I really wanted to share information to help you understand your dog’s fear, anxiety or phobia of storms and to provide information to help you support your dog before, during and after a storm.
This motivated me to put pen to paper (well fingers to keyboard) and finally write an ebook on this topic.
Now for the best part – the ebook ‘Storm Struggles: supporting dogs scared of storms‘ is free. Yes free for a limited period.
